SOUL SUMMIT. Strange name, you might think. By calling this event Soul Summit we hope to burn two pictures into your brain. First, a “summit” is a meeting or conference of leaders. We hope that Soul Summit is a chance for you to meet with other students and become leaders and agents of change in the world. Second, a “summit” is also defined as the highest point of attainment or aspiration. And, we hope that Soul Summit provides an opportunity for you to climb further toward the high calling you’ve received as a Christian.

Soul Summit is a week full of lots of different activities. We have a Main Event session each evening that includes modern worship music and a challenge from a speaker to in some way better understand and live out your Christian faith. The days are filled with a wide variety of outdoor and indoor activities. And, each night ends with some sort of activity that includes all students and counselors. Soul Summit is a cabin-based event, so you’ll get to experience all these things with some of your closest friends, and maybe even make a few new ones.

This year, a few things are changing, and a few things are staying the same. Remedy Drive is back to do our worship music. Three big things that are changing are: the location, the dates, and the cost. For the summer of 2008 we’ll be meeting in Ripley, WV at Cedar Lakes Conference Center. We’ve moved the dates back a bit to avoid conflict with other large events. Soul Summit will run from June 22-27 of 2008. And, we’ve decreased the cost this year. Early registration is only $190.
